Dick Van Dyke flexed his muscles while enjoying a productive gym session while crossing paths with an unlikely celebrity pal.

The 99-year-old star, who recently caused concern for his well-being by unexpectedly pulling out of an event, was busy exercising when Grammy-winning artist Rick Springfield happened to visit the same gym.

The Jessie’s Girl hitmaker uploaded an Instagram photo of the pair on Friday as they both showcased their arm muscles.

“While filming an episode for Men’s Health, I headed to the gym and who should be there but 99-year-old Dick Van Dyke, using every machine,” Springfield wrote in the caption.

‘Dick has lived in Malibu for about 30 years and is an awesome human being,’ the performer continued.

‘I thought I was doing well at 76, but Dick got up from the chest press machine and did a little dance step before I left! ❤️ Amazing!’

The Mary Poppins actor could be seen flexing his muscles on his right arm while sitting on one of the exercise equipment in the spacious gym.

Springfield crouched down next to the Hollywood star to also do the same and sent a small smile towards the camera.

Van Dyke donned a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up as well as black Puma track pants.

The Australian singer – who is also known for hits such as Don’t Talk To Strangers – wore a short-sleeved shirt as well as black pants and Converse sneakers.

Earlier this year in January, the comedian opened up about his fitness regime during an episode of the Where Everybody Knows Your Name podcast.

‘When you think… I go back to 1925, I’m almost 100. This is insane. I’m going to have a big party,’ Van Dyke expressed.

‘Somebody said, “To what do you attribute your age and physical condition?” And I said, “I’ve always exercised.” Three days a week, we go to the gym, still. Three days a week.’

One of the podcast hosts Ted Danson also recalled seeing Van Dyke at a gym in Malibu.

'When you think... I go back to 1925, I'm almost 100. This is insane. I'm going to have a big party,' he expressed; seen in 2024 in L.A.

‘If I got there early enough, I would see you literally work out on some weight machine,’ the Cheers alum said.

‘Then, almost like you were doing circuit training, you would not walk to the next machine, but dance. You literally danced to the next machine and I watched that for a couple of weeks.’

Back in 2021, he gave a little insight into his routine on CBS This Morning – including ab exercises.

Van Dyke will ring in his 100th birthday later this year on December 13th.

Back in May, the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang star revealed what the ‘curse’ of living to almost 100 is during a Q&A at the Dick & Arlene Van Dyke Present Vandy Camp event.

At one point, the actor explained how both he and late friend Ed Asner had planned to do a remake of The Odd Couple before his passing in August 2021, per People

‘That would’ve been such fun, and we lost it. I’ve lost a lot of friends,’ Van Dyke said.

His wife Arlene Silver – whom he tied the knot with in 2012 – then cut in to add, ‘He’s outlived everybody. That’s the curse of living to almost 100.’

She then asked her husband how he stays positive despite losing those close to him and he replied, ‘Well, life’s been good to me. I can’t complain.’

Van Dyke reflected on how performing still keeps him going at his age and also gives him a boast of energy.

‘I’m a ham. I love it. I get a jolt of energy from an audience,’ the actor told People at the event.

Last year in September, the star joked that he’s still ‘looking for work’ while at the Creative Arts Emmys.

At the ceremony, he tied the record with Norman Lear for being the oldest Emmy winner. Van Dyke had been 98-years-old at the time of the event.

The star won the award for Outstanding Variety Special for his 2023 birthday special Dick Van Dyke 98 Years of Magic.

He then humorously added, ‘I’m looking for work if anybody has.’
