At least one person has been killed after a driver rammed their vehicle into a large crowd on the famed Bourbon Street in New Orleans — hours after the city rang in the New Year, according to reports.

The mass causality incident occurred at the intersection of Bourbon Street and Iberville in the city’s French Quarter neighborhood at around 3:15 a.m., WGNO reported.

The New Orleans Police Department confirmed at least one death, according to the outlet.

Additional details, including injuries, have not yet been confirmed.

Large crowds were expected in NOLA as revelers were in town for New Year’s celebrations and the College Football Playoff Sugar Bowl between Georgia and Notre Dame at the Caesar’s Superdome.
