AUBURN, Ala. – Aaron Dontay Williams, 41, is now back in Alabama to face charges in a double homicide and kidnapping case that triggered a statewide Amber Alert and left a community in mourning.

On July 16, 2025, Williams was extradited from the Giles County Jail in Tennessee to the Auburn Police Department after waiving his right to fight extradition. Upon his arrival in Auburn, arrest warrants were executed charging him with four counts of capital murder and one count of kidnapping in the first degree. He was then transported to the Lee County Jail, where he is being held without bond.

Williams’ arrest came five days earlier, on Friday, July 11, at approximately 7:15 a.m. He was taken into custody without incident by the U.S. Marshals Service, with assistance from the FBI and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

The arrest followed the grim discovery on July 10, when Auburn Police conducting a welfare check found the bodies of Tyeisha Williams, 34, and her 13-year-old daughter Zy’nnya Wright inside a home on Samantha Court. Authorities believe the two were killed within 48 hours of being found.

The incident triggered an urgent search for 3-year-old Jibreel Harun, the biological son of Aaron and Tyeisha Williams. A statewide Amber Alert was issued, and authorities described Aaron Williams as armed and dangerous. A $15,000 reward was offered for information leading to his arrest.

Thankfully, Jibreel was found safe at the time of Williams’ arrest.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Auburn Police Department Investigations Section at 334-501-3140.
