Aussie reality star shares her dating hack to avoid misogynistic men

It’s no secret that dating apps are hard work, and one celebrity has revealed the new way women are weeding out men while looking for love.

Abbie Chatfield, who rose to fame thanks to “The Bachelor” and “FBoy Island,” is no stranger to the triumphs and tribulations of looking for love.

However, the 30-year-old media figure has shared a novel tactic women are using to distinguish between the men they wish to date and those they want to avoid — simply by mentioning Chatfield’s name.

“Here’s a masterclass to ensure you don’t date any misogynistic men, OK,” Chatfield said in a recent TikTok video.

“All you’ve got to do is mention my name and you will just ward them off immediately. It’s going to be so easy.

“I’ve stated it before, and I’ll mention it again — incorporate my name into your Hinge profiles or your Bumble profiles, and the misogynistic men will either stay away from you or reveal they are jerks.”

Chatfield then proceeded to show an interaction between a man on a dating app and one of her fans, Gemma, who had done just that.

“Oh I hate her,” the man said.

“Greeny lefty woke t–t. Hates Australia and yet still here. Pro Hamas. Get f–ked haha.

“I’m not into politics but when the Greens lost a lot of seats and when she had an epic cry it was great.”

Chatfield emphasized that she holds no disdain for Australia, feeling grateful to reside here. She also expressed that her only desire is for people to be happier and healthier, noting that she didn’t shed tears over the Greens losing seats.

“Not only has this man showed that he has incredibly misogynistic, problematic, right wing views but he also can’t even understand basic media,” she said.

“He has no media literacy. He didn’t even look at the video. He saw a photo of me crying, on a headline that probably said ‘Greens lose seats’.”

The influencer said she actually cried tears of joy at Peter Dutton losing his seat in the 2025 Federal Election.

Chatfield then praised Gemma’s response to what the man had said.

“So, this would normally be the part where I stop replying but I’m trying not to perpetuate ghosting culture,” Gemma said.

“I am no longer interested in getting to know you because of your views on Abbie Chatfield (and therefore women like her) as well as your views on progressive politics (that’s also ‘being political’. You don’t have to pretend you’re not political, just say you’re conservative so you get more like-minded matches in the future).

“And yes, this is exactly why I brought her up because a lot of people are unable to hide their hate for her.”

Chatfield said not liking her was inherently misogynistic because she wasn’t liked due to fact she was loud, opinionated, smart and spoke about “taboo” topics.

Chatfield asked her followers to continue to send through examples of when they drop her name into conversation as she wanted to keep making videos about it.

Fans of the former reality television star weighed in with their thoughts.

“We’ve had the Bechdel test. Now we’ve got the Chatfield screen,” one social media user said.

Another added: “Also ladies, I already had a political prompt on my Hinge that was referring to ‘Tell me where you will be on August 31st’.

“And we had already spoken about how the neo-Nazi recruitment rally was insane. So never be convinced of how a man aligns politically until you cover several bases.”

“The RESPONSE though. So mature and articulate,” one added.

Someone else commented: “You are living rent free in their heads.”

“I used to ask them about Taylor Swift when I was on the apps,” another wrote.

One added: “I love this, I’ve been doing the same thing.”

“Works like a charm I LOVE IT,” one social media user said.

This person said: “My ex hated you and so many other WOMEN creators. Makes sense.”

“It works ladies! I had a guy ask if I liked Abs and I said ‘yes she’s the queen of our generation’ and then he said ‘yeah nah’ and I said ‘OKAY BYE’.”

“Love this idea! ‘If you like Abbie Chatfield, we’ll get along’ is my bio,” one said.

Another commented: “OK so if I ever decide to date again, this is brilliant.”
