BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — An arrest has been made by the Birmingham Police Department concerning a fatal shooting that took place on Friday evening.
BPD reports indicate that officers were dispatched to Lawson Road’s 400 block around 7:32 p.m. following a shooting report. Upon arrival, they found an adult male with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to UAB Hospital and succumbed to his injuries on February 14.
The deceased has been identified as Eric Clayton, a 20-year-old resident of Birmingham.
Authorities have apprehended 22-year-old Kenyardus McCall in connection to the crime. McCall faces a murder charge and is being held without the possibility of bond, awaiting transfer to Jefferson County Jail.
