Corzelle White, a 37-year-old man, has been taken into custody under accusations of sexually abusing a child over a prolonged period. Authorities suspect he may have harmed other victims as well.

PALATKA, Fla. — A Palatka resident is facing serious charges after allegedly grooming and sexually abusing a minor for several years. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has expressed concerns that this child may not be the only victim of such abuse.

White was apprehended on Wednesday evening and now faces multiple charges, including sexual assault by a custodial caregiver on a child aged 12 or older, along with possession of child sexual exploitation material.

Investigators have reported that the victim endured abuse for three years, during which some incidents were reportedly documented through photographs or video recordings by White. These materials were allegedly discovered during a forensic examination of his cellphone.

“The ordeal this victim has endured is beyond words,” stated Sheriff H.D. Gator DeLoach. “A person who was supposed to be trustworthy manipulated this child into believing such behavior was normal. White’s actions are utterly despicable.”

White is currently being held in the Putnam County Jail without bond. If convicted of the sexual battery charge, he could face a sentence of up to life in prison.

During interviews, the sheriff’s office said investigators were made aware of three other potential victims allegedly mentioned by White.

“We have credible reason to believe there are more victims and we need parents and guardians to come forward so we can ensure these kids get the help they need as well as make sure this predator is held accountable for the lives he has tried to ruin,” said Sheriff DeLoach.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 386-329-0800 and ask to speak with Detective Gogan.
