In a twist straight out of a nature documentary, a KTLA news team found themselves at the center of an unexpected wildlife encounter in Monrovia, California, this past weekend. The crew was on location Sunday to cover a frightening incident involving a bear attack.
Erin Myers, the reporter on the scene, was in the midst of delivering a live update. She stood on a serene residential street, detailing the harrowing tale of a woman who had been injured just moments before. The victim, out for a walk with her dog, was suddenly charged by a bear that managed to claw her behind the knee.

As Myers shared the unsettling story, a black bear made an unanticipated appearance, strolling into view behind her. “You can see the bear actually walking into the trap, or no, it was going to, but now it’s walking out,” Myers commented, trying to maintain her calm as the situation unfolded live on air.
The extraordinary moment of the bear’s cameo was broadcasted as the reporter endeavored to stay composed while her surprise co-star ambled through the background.
Authorities are in the process of investigating whether the bear caught on camera was indeed the same one involved in the earlier attack.
Luckily, this bear wasn’t looking for a headline. After a brief, heart-stopping moment where it seemed to weigh the pros and cons of an interview, the furry intruder decided it wasn’t ready for its close-up and wandered back into the brush.
