Bethenny Frankel is still sounding the horn for Blake Lively, 37, in her dispute with her It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni.

Former star of Real Housewives of New York, aged 54, showed her admiration for her husband Ryan Reynolds, Lorne Michaels, and SNL in a video. She praised their recent appearance on the red carpet and participation in the show.

It was a significant moment for Blake at SNL 50, as it was her first public appearance since her involvement in the film “It Ends With Us” and the subsequent legal disputes with Baldoni over allegations of misconduct. Both sides have refuted all accusations made against them.

‘SNL was nothing short of brilliant for having them on last night. Its marketing genius,’ the Skinny Girl mogul said.

Referring to SNL, she emphasized their influential role, describing them as the forefront of popular culture and the embodiment of the spirit of the times. She highlighted their tendency to feature controversial figures, address disruptive subjects, and host guests from diverse backgrounds, including political figures.

‘It also, whether you like them or not, smart of Blake and Ryan to go,’ she said.

‘From a marketing standpoint, it was a great move because not everyone lives in the bowels of TikTok reading every single legal document and knows every single little thing that you guys know.

Elsewhere in the video she mentioned Blake shilling for her booze and hair care brands while promoting It Ends With Us, a film about sexual assault.

She also mentioned that while red wing commentator Candace Owens might not like that SNL gave a nod to the situation, she would have to agree that it was a smart move.

Fans don’t necessarily agree with Bethenny as their fury was fast with comments about the sketch Reynolds appeared in.

During the broadcast, Reynolds poked fun at their scandal with Justin Baldoni in a skit with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Reynolds stood up from the audience alongside Lively and said, ‘I have a question.’

He was asked, ‘Oh Ryan Reynolds, how’s it going?’ to which the Deadpool star deadpanned, ‘Great – why, what have you heard?’ – in a nod to the months of headlines regarding the troubled production of the summer hit It Ends with Us.

Many commenters felt that the powerful couple was using their clout to try and maneuver public sentiment back on their side after months of bad headlines.

‘How sweet of SNL to try and do damage control for Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively—but it won’t work,’ said one user.

Another remarked of the show, ‘Gross. So they’re supporting the bullies too.’

One person said Reynolds’ ‘desperation is showing,’ while another said of the pair, ‘Those 2 are cringe at this point…’

Another referenced Reynolds’ former marriage to Scarlett Johansson, who was on hand Sunday, as she’s wed to SNL stalwart Colin Jost: ‘I hope Scarlet laughed uproariously.’

Said one commenter: ‘Way to try and do damage control for Ryan and Blake. Disgusting!!! Besides SNL hasn’t been funny for a decade!’

Another added, ’50 years of SNL will always be remembered as the place Blake and Ryan went to once during their scandal.’

Said one user: ‘To me it’s clear that Blake Lively was pretending to be shocked. What’s with the funny jokester attitudes Blake and Ryan have?

‘They really think they can fool us into thinking it’s all a big joke to them and they are above the disastrous narrative that’s forming around them???’

One user said that the stress from the scandal was reflected in Reynolds’ weary look on Sunday: ‘I audibly gasped! He looks awful!’

Said one user: ‘How much of a narcissist does Ryan Reynolds have to be to do this bit on #SNL50;’ another asked, ‘Is that supposed to be funny? At this point, why are Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds even attending any events?

Some fans of the couple welcomed them back into the limelight with kind and supportive words.

One user said: ‘Blake Lively is gorgeous like that’s my mean girl,’ while another added, ‘save me Blake Lively in this gorgeous Tamara Ralph dress… save me.’
