The 79-year-old was seen in photographs warmly embracing his daughter, Chelsea, who at 45, had just completed the race. Accompanying him was his wife, Hillary Clinton, age 78. Despite the bandage, Clinton appeared in good spirits as he congratulated his daughter on her achievement.

The reason behind the bandage on Clinton’s nose was not immediately disclosed. However, the former president’s health has been a topic of public interest over the years, given his history of medical challenges.

Back in 2004, Clinton underwent a successful quadruple bypass surgery after doctors discovered that some of his arteries were nearly completely blocked. This significant health event marked the beginning of his widely followed health journey.

The images of Clinton at the marathon, showing him with the bandage, were captured as he shared a tender moment with Chelsea. The photos, taken by Angelina Katsanis for the AP, highlight a personal family moment amidst the bustling marathon crowd.

At the time, ABC News reported that physicians said Clinton narrowly avoided a major heart attack.

In 2022, he faced another health setback when he contracted COVID-19. The infection was described as mild, but it nonetheless renewed concerns about his overall health given his history of cardiac issues.

Sunday’s images showed the former president in good spirits as he embraced his daughter at the finish line and cheered her on.
