() Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly defended President Donald Trump’s economic policies Monday, saying the president has undertaken an “unprecedented” challenge by attempting to transform both the economy and American culture simultaneously.

“President Trump has done something no other president has done ever. He’s tried to change two fundamental parts of America, the liberal culture, DEI, and the economy,” O’Reilly told ‘s “On Balance.”

The author of the upcoming book “Confronting Evil: Assessing the Worst of the Worst” said Trump’s ambitious agenda explains his recent polling struggles, though he characterized those poll numbers as “fragile” and potentially subject to quick improvement.

“If the stock market goes up a thousand points, 2,000 points in May, then what goes up as well?” O’Reilly asked, implying Trump’s approval would rise with market improvements.

When pressed about the administration blaming media coverage for economic concerns a tactic similar to the Biden administration O’Reilly rejected the comparison. He insisted recent market downturns reflected legitimate investor concerns rather than media influence.

“It’s not the media that’s driving the fear, it’s people’s hard earned money declining on paper,” O’Reilly said, while acknowledging Trump was likely “caught by surprise” by recent market volatility following tariff announcements.

O’Reilly contrasted Trump’s approach with former President Joe Biden’s, calling Biden “a failure from top to bottom” who “didn’t confront the problems” facing the economy.
