Mecole Hardman is back on the NFL free-agent market.
The Buffalo Bills parted ways with the Super Bowl-winning wide receiver while trimming their roster to the required 53 players before Week 1, the team confirmed Saturday.
Hardman, 28, spent the previous season with Buffalo but never carved out a significant role in the Bills’ offense.
The former Georgia standout played in only three games combined between the regular season and postseason, though he did make one notable contribution by hauling in a four-yard touchdown from Josh Allen in Buffalo’s divisional-round defeat to the Broncos.
Known for his breakaway speed, Hardman built his reputation with the Kansas City Chiefs, who drafted him in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Hardman spent six seasons in Kansas City across two stints, winning three Super Bowls and recording 178 catches for 2,302 yards and 16 touchdowns total in his career.
His biggest moment came in Super Bowl 2024 when he caught a three-yard touchdown pass in overtime to give the Chiefs a 25-22 victory over the 49ers.
Hardman briefly left Kansas City for the Jets in 2023, catching just one pass in five games before being traded back to the Chiefs seven months later.
The Bills made a big addition to their wide receiver room over the offseason, acquiring DJ Moore and a 2026 fifth-round pick from the Bears for a 2026 second-rounder, giving Allen the true No. 1 receiver that he’s lacked in recent years.
Moore joined a group that already included Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman and Joshua Palmer, while Buffalo also used a fourth-round pick on UConn receiver Skyler Bell, making Hardman expendable as Buffalo trimmed its roster before the regular season.
