BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Trussville Tribune) — A shooting Saturday morning that left one person dead has been ruled as a justifiable death, according to the Birmingham Police Department.

The man killed in the shooting was identified as 38-year-old Anthony DeAngelo Avila.

According to police, Avila and another individual were reportedly involved in a verbal altercation that began at the Church of the Reconciler and spilled over to the 1000 Block of 2nd Avenue North where Avila was fatally shot.
