Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds reportedly skipping Met Gala 2025

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds will reportedly not be attending this year’s Met Gala.

A source close to the couple claims they have no plans to show up for the star-studded event which is scheduled to take place on May 5, reports TMZ.

Their choice not to attend the event comes as a result of the ongoing legal dispute between the couple and Justin Baldoni, who co-stars with Lively in “It Ends With Us”. The situation has seen various developments this week.

However, the outlet claims Lively, 37, and Reynolds’ legal woes weren’t a factor in their choice as their decision was made months before their drama with Baldoni unfolded.

A rep for Lively and Reynolds did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

It’s worth noting that this wouldn’t be the first time that the “Queen of the Met Gala” and Reynolds, 48, chose to skip the high-profile event.

They actually haven’t attended the fundraising event since 2022. Last year we reported Lively and Reynolds didn’t attend because they wanted to enjoy quality family time with their four children at home.

Lively, who has been a fan-favorite with her many looks over the years, served as a co-chair for the 2022 Gilded Glamour-themed ball, which she undoubtedly nailed on the red carpet where she rocked an Atelier Versace gown.

The copper-colored embellished creation was worn with a dramatic bustled train and matching metallic gloves. She finished the look with a gleaming tiara and enormous diamond Lorraine Schwartz earrings.

The train of her dress revealed its deeper symbolism, which was meant as an ode to the Statue of Liberty with its Art Deco styled turquoise underside.

This year’s Met Gala theme, which was announced in October 2024, is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” The official dress code “is a nod to the exhibition’s focus on menswear and is ‘purposefully designed to provide guidance and invite creative interpretation.’”

Co-chairs for the ball include actor Colman Domingo, race car driver Lewis Hamilton, rappers A$AP Rocky and Pharrell Williams and, of course, editor-in-chief of Vogue Anna Wintour.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James will serve as an honorary chair.
