Fans spot odd detail as Blake Lively breaks silence on 'intense' year

Blake Lively appeared on Seth Meyers’ Thursday Late Night show and admitted she has suffered some of the ‘lowest of lows of her life’ this year.

The 37-year-old actress hinted at her ongoing legal dispute with Justin Baldoni, 41, during her appearance on the show. However, many fans were quick to notice that she wasn’t wearing her wedding ring.

Instead, Blake had on a large cocktail ring on the middle finger of her left hand. It’s not uncommon for the fashion-savvy star to forgo her wedding ring at events, often opting for bold costume jewelry instead.

During her conversation with Meyers, Blake shared, ‘What I can say without delving too deep into it is that this past year has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows in my life. I see so many women hesitant to speak out, especially now, reluctant to open up about their own experiences, and this fear is intentional.’

‘It’s what keeps us silent. But I also acknowledge that many people don’t have the opportunity to speak.’

‘So I do feel fortunate that I’ve been able to and as a woman, you have the ability to use your voice – that’s kept me strong and helped me in my belief and my fight for the world to be safer for women and girls. It’s a pretty simple thing.’

While on the show Lively said that her four kids, whom she shares with husband Ryan Reynolds, 48, have been her ‘lifeline’ during her ‘intense’ year, a source who attended the taping exclusively told Dailymail.com.

The pair, who’ve been married since 2012, share daughters James, 10, Inez, eight, Betty, five, and son Olin, two.

The interview was Lively’s first talk show appearance since her legal feud with Baldoni began last December.

She and Baldoni are set to head to court in March 2026.

Speaking of her kids — who Blake previously claimed were ‘traumatized’ by the Baldoni drama — the star said: ‘It’s no surprise it’s been a pretty intense year and they’re just my lifeline.’

‘No matter what day I am having, I have to be Disneyland for them. It’s the best, it’s chaos.’

Blake shared that her son is ‘so romantic’ and that he complements her and announces that she’s the ‘love of his life,’ which she says is the ‘best feeling in the world.’

Seth asked, ‘Do you feel as though he was more loving than your daughters were at that age?’

‘No, it’s different. It’s just different he just like announces that I’m the love of his life at all times, which is like just the best feeling in the world,’ she said.

She then joked, ‘I get dressed every day like a girl in middle school and I’m like, oh my gosh, I hope he says something.’

Seth then asked if her daughters ever criticize her outfits.

‘Oh, yeah. One of my daughters has the same birthday as Napoleon and Jennifer Lawrence, so if you imagine those two blended,’ she said.

‘She’s the funniest person in the world but she will definitely, like, rule the world with authoritarian leadership.’

She also shared that all she watches these days are children’s movies like ‘Frozen.’

Elsewhere in the conversation Seth asked if it was her husband Ryan’s gin that was used in her new movie, Another Simple Favor — a sequel to her 2018 film, A Simple Favor.

Her husband is the co-owner of Aviation American Gin.

However Blake explained it was director Paul Feig’s gin, and that she had to have a sit down with Ryan about it.

‘It was like, baby, I have something to tell you. We’re gonna talk about it here and then we’re going to forget it ever happened.’

She then mentioned her character’s habit of putting ice in martinis, adding that she personally loves ice and even puts it in her milk, which prompted laughter.

She also spoke about attending Wrexham FC games with her husband, who co-owns the football club.

‘My husband compares it, he’s like it’s like church being here. And I see what he means. There’s something so sacred and so beautiful about that place and the way that community honors their sport. It’s not about a game. It’s about people coming together.’

‘So it doesn’t matter what side of the political spectrum they’re on, everybody puts on the same Jersey everyday, puts their arms around each other. Sings and cries. Grown men crying and hugging and singing. It’s just beautiful. Is incredible.’

Blake wowed in a frilly layered white dress while appearing on the show, and wore her blonde tresses in a halfway updo. She joked that her chic gown was a ‘wedding dress.’

They wrapped up by discussing filming in Italy, followed by her experience taking her co-stars Michele Morrone and Lorenzo de Moor around New York to sample pizza.

She mentioned buying a large Parmesan shaker, and they joked about topping preferences, including Michele’s dislike of honey on pizza.

Blake was joined by her sister, Robyn Lively, 53, and mom, Elaine Lively, 77, who were in the audience.

During the commercial break, Seth took fan questions. One fan asked if he could give Blake a bracelet, but Seth declined, joking she’d likely have left by the time he gave it to her.

Some fans called Lively’s appearance ‘ridiculous’ and ‘cringe’ as they took to social media after the show aired.

‘The way she’s doubling down is insane to me I would be mortified I give it two years before she exiles herself to Ewurope after losing her lawsuits,’ one wrote.

‘Not buying this rebranding!! Nice try! Blakey!’ someone else added.

Another one questioned the timing, noting that her ex-boyfriend Penn Badgley was appearing on Meyers’ rival Jimmy Fallon’s show.

Lively later showed off her long legs while leaving the taping in a blue tweed jacket and mini skirt.

She accessorized with studded silver heels and a metallic blue purse.

It comes after Lively’s legal woes have taken a turn for the worse, as she has now been subpoenaed by Baldoni’s team.

DailyMail.com has learned the papers were handed to her lawyers last week and asks for all communications – including texts and emails – related to Baldoni and the film that sparked the feud, It Ends With Us.

Lively has accused Baldoni of sexually harassing her during filming and claims he waged a negative publicity campaign against her.

He subsequently hit back and sued the actress and her husband Ryan for $400million, saying her allegations were defamatory and false, and accusing her of attempting to hijack the project.

The legal battle has already seen some zingers aired in court, among them Baldoni’s claim that she tried to threaten him with Reynolds and erstwhile best friend Taylor Swift – referring to the superstars as ‘my dragons’ and comparing herself to Game of Thrones character Khaleesi.

Lively has also been accused of failing to read the novel on which the movie is based until well after filming started and forcing Baldoni and his family to sit in the basement during the premiere.

On top of that, some of her allegations have begun to look dubious such as the claim that Baldoni had nuzzled her neck and told her ‘you smell so good’ during a dancing scene.

Although the mom-of-four claimed it had been filmed with microphones off, DailyMail.com obtained raw footage that showed the sound was on and that the conversation had instead been about the scent of Lively’s fake tan.

Attention has now turned to who else could be subpoenaed in the case, with Reynolds odds-on to have his communications scrutinized by Baldoni’s team.

Last week, speculation arose around Swift and Reynolds’ friend Hugh Jackman with reports saying that they too are facing a legal grilling.

Superstar singer Swift is reportedly furious over being dragged into the case and has not been photographed with Lively for months.

Last week, her boyfriend Travis Kelce unfollowed Reynolds – who is currently celebrating his soccer team Wrexham’s promotion to the English Football League Championship – in yet another sign that relations between the two couples have cooled.
