McDonald’s has unveiled a refreshed “Under $3” menu aimed at providing customers with more choices and flexibility at any time of the day, the fast-food giant announced on Thursday.
This new menu will replace the current offerings on the McValue menu, as confirmed by the company.
“For generations, McDonald’s has been committed to delivering great value that our fans can rely on,” stated Alyssa Buetikofer, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer at McDonald’s USA, in the announcement. “As customer expectations evolve, we’re making it easier for them to get the value they seek—on their terms.”
What’s on the Under $3 menu?
The “Under $3” menu will highlight “at least 10 menu items” available throughout the day, each priced under $3. Breakfast selections include a Sausage McMuffin, Sausage Biscuit, Sausage Burrito, Hash Browns, and a medium McCafé coffee. For the rest of the day, options include a McChicken, McDouble, 4-piece Chicken McNuggets, small Fries, and a medium soft drink. McDonald’s also hinted that regional variations might appear on the menu.
Many of these items are already priced under $3 at most locations; the new menu aims to streamline the ordering process for customers.
The Under $3 menu officially launches on April 21.
What is the Under $3 meal replacing?
The new Under $3 menu will replace the existing “Buy One, Add One for $1” deal structure currently available on the McValue menu. This deal allows customers to purchase an extra item for $1 with the purchase of another item (from a pool of specific choices) at the regular price.
The McValue Meal Deals, meanwhile, will remain on the menu. A new $4 breakfast Meal Deal will join the offerings, featuring a choice of Sausage McMuffin or Sausage Biscuit served with hash browns and a small McCafé coffee for $4 (before taxes) at participating restaurants.
