Texas border patrol agents recovered five unaccompanied migrant children holding notes with addresses in New York and Texas.

Department of Public Safety troopers in Texas found the five young kids in Eagle Pass after they crossed the Rio Grande with a group of 60 illegal immigrants, Lieutenant Chris Olivarez reported. 

The children, who were ages five to 11, traveled all the way from Honduras and Guatemala.

They clutched paper notes with addresses for locations in New York and Texas written on them.

Striking photographs showed the hopeful youngsters holding the pieces of paper.

One little girls note read ‘Schenectady, Nueva York’ and included a name. 

Another young migrant boy clutched a ripped up scrap of paper with a Texas ZIP code scribbled on it.

The arrival of the unaccompanied children comes after a 62-page-report by the Office of Inspector General for the Department of Health and Human Services sound that ‘Children who arrive in the United States unaccompanied are especially vulnerable to exploitation.’

More and more unaccompanied children are crossing the border as time goes on, with 128,904 minors crossed the border alone in the 2022 fiscal year – up from 122,731 the year before. 

Most of the children traveled from Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and Mexico, agency statistics show. 

President Joe Biden is set to meet with law enforcement in Brownsville on Thursday, reportedly to push for the passage of a bipartisan border security agreement.

The plan, drafted by a small group of senators earlier this year, would tie border security measures to foreign aid for Ukraine, Israel and allies in the Pacific.

The White House have called the package the ‘toughest and fairest set of reforms’ in decades.

It includes increased funding for drug interdiction along with other Border Patrol operations, having been endorsed by the U.S. Border Patrol Union.

Meanwhile, Trump is also traveling to another Texas border city, Eagle Pass, ahead of the March 5 primary. 

Eagle Pass has been at the center of Texas’ legal standoff with the Biden administration over the state’s right to enforce the border.

Operation Lone Star, which was started in 2021 to counter the rise in illegal immigration and illegal drug trade, is still ongoing in the state.

Under the operation, an 80-acre base was built in Eagle Pass for the National Guard troops deployed to deal with the rise in illegal activity on the border.
