Brad Stevens says he isn’t going anywhere.

Recently, there have been speculations circulating on social media about Brad Stevens potentially taking over as the head basketball coach at Indiana University, replacing Mike Woodson.

Indiana announced on Feb. 7 that Woodson will be stepping down following the 2024-25 season.

Stevens, however, has since denied the discourse, saying that he his fine with his current situation with the Celtics.

“I thoroughly appreciate being a Celtic and love the people I get to work with every day,” Stevens told The Field of 68 on Friday.

The 48-year-old Stevens, who helped Boston build a title winner last year, has previously coached college basketball in the state of Indiana.

Previously, Stevens held the position of head coach at Butler University from 2007 to 2013. During his time there, he guided the team to back-to-back NCAA national championship games in 2010 and 2011. Additionally, Stevens secured three Horizon League tournament titles and earned the league’s coach of the year award in both 2009 and 2010.

Following his successful stint at Butler, Stevens transitioned to coaching the Boston Celtics for eight seasons. Under his leadership, the Celtics made seven consecutive playoff appearances from 2014 to 2021 and advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals thrice during this period.

Stevens was ultimately named as the Celtics’ president of basketball operations in June 2021, and saw his team win their first championship since 2008 last season.
