() A vigil for assassinated conservative activist Charlie Kirk turned tense when a fight broke out near the Idaho State Capitol in Boise, Idaho, on the evening of Sept. 10, the day the 31-year-old was fatally shot.

Video shows multiple officers responding to a verbal altercation in which a man can be heard shouting, “F— Charlie Kirk!” to which others reply, “F— you!” Other expletives and insults were exchanged with multiple people in the crowd.

Local news outlet KIVI reported that the brawl unfolded when a man riding on a bike yelled an expletive as he was passing by. Another man responded.

A person can be seen making a move toward the man, the video, recorded by Liberty Snippets/Idaho Liberty Dogs, shows. At this point, police intervened and restrained both men. The crowd began cheering.

Kirk’s murder is the latest act of political violence. Though he didn’t hold office, the Turning Point USA founder created a safe space for young Republicans.

The increased violence, which data shows has risen, has placed a spotlight on civil unrest and on where society goes from here.

A recent YouGov poll found that 9 in 10 Americans surveyed believe that political violence has become a big problem in the country.
