The incident unfolded Saturday evening when the Baker County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to a shooting involving a family member at a residence on Harry Rewis Road. As deputies neared the home, they came under fire.
The sheriff’s office stated that deputies retaliated, resulting in the suspect being critically injured.
One deputy sustained a gunshot wound to the arm and was transported to the hospital; his injuries are not considered life-threatening, officials confirmed.
