In Salt Lake City, a significant announcement has emerged from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. President Dallin H. Oaks has been appointed as the new Prophet, succeeding the late Prophet Russell M. Nelson, who passed away on September 27th. This leadership transition was officially disclosed on Tuesday afternoon.

President Oaks, stepping into his new role, has selected President Henry B. Eyring and President D. Todd Christofferson to serve alongside him as counselors in the Church’s First Presidency. This leadership body plays a crucial role in guiding the Church’s mission and activities.

The Church has outlined that the First Presidency, comprised of the Prophet and his two counselors, is pivotal in directing the Church’s global operations. Their efforts are complemented by the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, ensuring comprehensive oversight and leadership of Church activities worldwide.
