An afternoon standoff in a Los Angeles neighborhood concluded peacefully on Tuesday, with no gunfire, after an armed individual barricaded himself on Rose Avenue.

The situation unfolded around 1:30 p.m. on the 600 block of Rose Avenue. Details regarding the events leading up to the standoff remain sparse as officials have yet to disclose further information.

Responding to reports of an armed man, officers quickly established a barricade, prompting a significant police presence. The suspect, described by the LAPD as a white male, was eventually apprehended, according to the Westside Current.

The individual is under investigation for assault with a deadly weapon. However, specifics about the charge and whether there were any injuries have not been clarified.

Footage from the scene showed a large number of officers in tactical gear surrounding the vicinity, with a police helicopter hovering above, heightening the drama of the encounter. Meanwhile, local residents stood by anxiously, observing the unfolding events and uncertain about the outcome.

Despite the presence of a firearm, initial police information did not indicate that any shots were fired according to reports.

Officials have released few additional details about what led up to the barricade or what charges the suspect may ultimately face. It also remains unclear whether anyone else was involved or if there were any injuries tied to the initial assault allegation.

The incident temporarily disrupted the neighborhood as officers secured the area and worked to bring the suspect into custody safely.

By late afternoon, the scene had calmed, with police clearing out and residents slowly returning to normal routines.
