Two tragic deaths occurred just one day apart in mid-November, according to local authorities.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man has been charged with two counts of murder following investigations by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, which linked him to the deaths of a man and a woman nearly a month ago.
On Saturday, November 15, officers discovered the body of 27-year-old Maurice Solomon near East 15th Street and Phoenix Avenue. The Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed that his death was a homicide.
The next day, authorities responded to a call about a deceased woman found under a bridge on Blanding Boulevard. She was identified as 35-year-old Tiffany Felton, and her death was also ruled a homicide by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Following a thorough investigation, homicide detectives identified 37-year-old Curtis Asberry as the suspect in both cases. Asberry was arrested on Monday, November 17, though on charges initially unrelated to the deaths of Solomon and Felton.
After investigators built enough evidence to receive a warrant for murder for Asberry in both cases, he was charged with both Solomon’s and Felton’s murders on Friday.
