Say goodbye to casual attire for Shedeur Sanders.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski revealed on Friday that the rookie quarterback is set to resume his position as a backup to starter Dillon Gabriel in Sunday’s matchup against the Jets. Sanders had been sidelined with a back injury during the Browns’ Week 8 defeat by the Patriots.
Following Joe Flacco’s trade in early October, Sanders ascended to the No. 2 quarterback spot on the depth chart.

Even with his recent inactivity, Sanders remains ahead of experienced player Bailey Zappe, who stepped in when the fifth-round draft pick, No. 144 overall, was unavailable in Week 8.
With Cleveland emerging from its bye week, the team is eager to return to winning ways.
The son of Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has yet to make his regular-season NFL debut, despite getting some time during the preseason.

He threw 138 yards for two touchdowns in his preseason debut for a 30-10 Browns win over the Panthers on Aug. 8.
The Browns have gone 1-3 with Gabriel under center and have failed to score at least 20 points in three out of his four starts.
