According to the Omaha World-Herald, Berkshire Hathaway’s founder and Chairman Warren Buffett has decided to skip his traditional appearance on stage at the 2026 company shareholders’ meeting.
Instead of taking the stage, Buffett will be seated with the company’s board of directors while Greg Abel, his successor and current vice chairman who is set to become CEO, will field questions from shareholders.

Buffett’s daughter, Susie Buffett, a board member at Berkshire, mentioned that at her father’s request, Abel will be the one to address the audience at next year’s meeting.
Abel told the newspaper that the next annual meeting will be in Omaha on May 2. Reuters could not immediately confirm the report and Berkshire did not immediately respond to a Reuters’ request for a comment.

Earlier this month, the company said that Buffett would remain as chairman after Abel takes over as CEO.
Berkshire made that announcement two days after the 94-year-old Buffett revealed at the company’s annual meeting in Omaha that he would step down as CEO, ending six decades at the helm for the legendary investor.
