LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – Residents in a Los Angeles neighborhood say they’re beyond frustrated as a man continues blasting his home alarms and a set of train horns from his house every day.

Those living on the 6600 block of Peach Street said the noisy disruption has been going on for months and the man responsible for it, Gary Boyadzhyan, says he has no plans to stop.

“He does this periodically several times during the day,” said Bob Donovan, a neighbor. “It only shuts off when the air runs out because it’s blasted by air. Then he turns it back on. It has a range of 3.5 miles. It’s an actual train horn.”

Boyadzhyan claims he has a long-running grievance with LAPD’s Van Nuys division over a personal issue and that the loud sirens are his way of getting the department’s attention.

“I do sincerely apologize to my neighbors,” Boyadzhyan told affiliate KTLA. “I, honestly to God, am so sorry to discomfort you guys in your own homes, but I don’t know what else to do.”

He wouldn’t explain what the nature of his personal grievance was, only saying that he needed help and that he wanted “justice to be served.”

Neighbors constantly report the loud noises to the police and the horns will eventually turn off when officers show up.

Residents feel helpless and many said it’s hard to have sympathy for the man, considering the relentless noise they’re forced to endure every day.

“I mean, I hear what he’s saying, he needs help, but what kind of help does he need?” a neighbor said in frustration.

Many neighbors were upset that, despite constant calls to the Los Angeles Police Department, the disturbance showed no signs of stopping.

They said Boyadzhyan reportedly turns off the horns before officers arrive. LAPD said that, to issue a citation, they would need to witness the horns and alarms blaring when they arrive, but that had not happened.

“They were out here this morning,” another neighbor said. “Three cop cars showed up. They were here for about half an hour, talking to him and then they hopped in their cars and drove away.”

On Wednesday night, LAPD confirmed that Boyadzhyan was arrested and taken to the Van Nuys Station for booking. Details on the potential charges he is facing were not provided.
