The DUI charge against a driver involved in a fatal eight-vehicle collision in California has been dismissed following negative results from toxicology screenings for drugs and alcohol.

Officials reported that on October 21, a semitrailer operated by 21-year-old Jashanpreet Singh collided with multiple vehicles in heavy traffic along Interstate 10 in Ontario, resulting in three fatalities. Singh was initially detained on allegations of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter while impaired.

On October 31, the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office released a statement indicating that toxicology reports verified the absence of any tested substances in Singh’s blood at the time of the incident. Consequently, an updated complaint was submitted to reflect these findings.
