According to the Camden County Sheriff’s Office, due to the home’s proximity to a childcare center and private school, the suspect will encounter “enhanced charges.”

CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. — A significant drug raid in Camden County has resulted in the arrest of a man accused of drug trafficking, as revealed by the sheriff’s office on Tuesday.

John Braxton is now facing multiple charges, both felony and misdemeanor, which include but are not limited to possession with intent to distribute, firearm-related offenses, and having “drug-related objects” in his possession.

The sheriff’s office reported that on Thursday, February 12, their Joint Camden Action Team—which includes personnel from the sheriff’s office, as well as the Kingsland and St. Marys Police Departments—executed a no-knock search warrant at a residence on West Lilly Street at approximately 9:10 a.m.

The authorities noted that Braxton was observed leaving the vicinity just before they entered. A traffic stop was subsequently conducted on Braxton, allowing investigators to “swiftly secure and search the premises.”

Detectives reportedly seized cocaine, meth, fentanyl pills, MDMA, marijuana, scales, packaging materials and glassware consistent with drug distribution inside the home. Five guns were also seized, including rifles equipped with suppressors and multiple handguns, as well as a vehicle.

All five firearms were checked and not reported stolen, according to the sheriff’s office.

Because the home is located near a childcare facility and private academy, police said Braxton will face “enhanced charges” under Georgia law.
