Car stolen in Charlotte found in Georgia

A police chase ensued when they found the vehicle in Glynn County, Georgia.

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — The Glynn County Police Patrol Division arrested a man in Camden County after a police chase, according to a press release.

GCPD says Christian King-Thorpe stole a 2025 Hyundai Genesis from Charlotte Douglas International Airport and drove it into Georgia.

They found King-Thorpe and a passenger at a Circle K on Millenium Boulevard in Glynn County, but they got in to the vehicle and fled, the release says.

Police then engaged in a pursuit along I-95 South. They were able to stop the vehicle near the 22-mile marker in Camden County. 

Both King-Thorpe and the passenger was arrested, but the passenger was released without any charges.

King-Thorpe faces charges related to both the stolen vehicle and traffic offenses.
