AUBURN, Ala. (WHNT) — Auburn’s Chad Baker-Mazara is entering the transfer portal, the guard announced on social media Thursday morning.
“First I wanna thank God for blessing me with the opportunity to do what I love but I wanna thank my teammates, coaching staff and the Auburn Family for the incredible support for this past two years! With this been said I would be entering the transfer portal. Gracias Auburn!” Baker-Mazara said.
He began his career at Duquesne where averaged 9.5 points per game, 2.9 rebounds per game and shot 41% from three point range.
Baker-Mazara transferred to San Diego State following his freshman year. He spent a season with the Aztecs and averaged 6.4 points per game.
Following his time at San Diego State, Baker-Mazara transferred to Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, Florida before transferring to Auburn in 2023.
Now in his second year with the program, he has become one of the Tigers top contributors. He is averaging 13.1 points per game, three rebounds and two assist. The 6-7 forward has been a Swiss army knife, playing multiple positions in different line ups that the Tigers have trotted out onto the court this season.
Without the ball in his hands, Baker-Mazara has been an emotional leader for the team, often taking the brunt of opposing fans boos and playing a villain like role.
Baker-Mazara was apart of two SEC championships for the Tigers and a Final Four appearance
