In Country Club Hills, Illinois, three individuals are now charged following the shooting of two suspects during an undercover operation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), according to authorities.
The event unfolded on Tuesday evening in the vicinity of 189th Street and Loretto Lane.

As per the ATF, the operation was underway around 5:30 p.m. when an armed robbery attempt was made on undercover agents. In response, an ATF special agent along with a task force officer opened fire, injuring two suspects. It has been confirmed that the task force officer is affiliated with the Chicago Police Department.
Both wounded suspects were apprehended and subsequently taken to a hospital, where their conditions are reported to be stable.
Additionally, a third individual has been charged with assaulting an officer, officials reported.
Witnesses, who did not want to speak on camera, told ABC7 they heard multiple gunshots. They reported seeing one person with a ski mask running through the neighborhood followed by a massive law enforcement response.
Investigators could be seen surrounding a white vehicle. A couple of blocks away at Martin Lane and Martin Court, more agents focused on a black Mitsubishi.
The ATF said Illinois State Police, the FBI and Chicago Police Department assisted in the investigation.
COPA is also investigating because a Chicago police officer was involved.
