CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Authorities reported that on Friday, Cher’s son found himself in trouble with the law after causing a disturbance at a New Hampshire private school, a place to which he has no ties.

Elijah Allman, aged 49, faces several misdemeanor charges, including two counts of simple assault, along with criminal trespass and threatening. Additionally, Allman, son of the late musician Gregg Allman, was cited for disorderly conduct, which, while illegal in New Hampshire, does not qualify as a crime.

Police arrived at St. Paul’s School around 7 p.m. following complaints about Allman’s disruptive behavior in the dining area. After his arrest, Allman was released on bail, with his legal proceedings ongoing.

Attorney information for Allman was not available in court records.

A representative for Cher was not immediately available. St. Paul’s School declined to comment.

An investigation is ongoing.
