CHICAGO (WLS) — A Chicago man head pleaded guilty to arson involving Halloween decorations, according to court documents.

Mario Munoz was arrested in October 2023.
He was charged with a felony count of arson, causing over $150 in damage, and a misdemeanor count of criminal damage to property less than $500.
Nearly two years later, Munoz pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated arson.
A judge sentenced him to six years at IDOC to be served at 85%. He will receive credit for the 645 days already served.
Munoz received an additional year on an unrelated count of resisting an officer.

A Ring camera allegedly captured Munoz cutting the heads off inflatable Halloween decorations outside a home on Maplewood Avenue, according to a police report.
At the time, police alerted North Side residents that someone has been igniting Halloween decorations on front porches along with street corner garbage cans.

No injuries were been reported in any of the fires.
