CHICAGO (WLS) — In a troubling incident Wednesday night, gunfire erupted outside a Woodlawn gas station, leaving four individuals injured, according to Chicago police.
The shooting occurred around 7:12 p.m. along the 6600 block of South Stony Island Avenue.

Authorities reported that a vehicle approached the location, with multiple suspects exiting and opening fire, injuring four people. Police later identified the vehicle and engaged in a pursuit.
Among the victims, one man sustained a head wound and was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
An 18-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to his back and leg, while a 19-year-old was hit in the leg. Both were also taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center and are currently in fair condition. Another 18-year-old, grazed by a bullet on his back, was admitted to the same hospital and is listed in good condition.
Police are questioning several persons of interest.
Rep. Robin Kelly shared the following statement late Wednesday:
“Praying for those impacted after tonight’s shooting near Jackson Park. Preventing gun violence is a priority of mine. Period. I will continue my fight in the US Senate. Our communities deserve better. Preventing gun violence and saving lives will always be my top priority.”
