CHICAGO (WLS) — The search for Linda Brown continues, as her absence extends into its second day without any word of her whereabouts.
On Monday, her family traced the local educator’s recent movements in Bridgeport and contacted hospitals in the vicinity, yet they have found no leads. Desperate for assistance, they are now reaching out to the public, hoping for help in reuniting with Linda safely.

“We have no idea where she could be. It’s crucial we find her soon because I’m falling apart and at a loss for what to do,” expressed Antwon Brown, Linda’s husband.
According to Chicago police, Linda was last observed in the vicinity of the 4500-block of South Martin Luther King Drive, close to her residence, on Saturday. Her image is being shared widely both online and across the Chicago area in hopes of gathering any information.
Antwon recalls their last moments together on Friday night, as the couple enjoyed a movie at their home in Bronzeville before retiring to bed.
“Everything was fine. Next morning I woke up, it was like 8:35 a.m., and she was gone. No sign of her. I thought she went to acupuncture because she goes to acupuncture on Saturdays,” Antwon said.
But Antwon says the 53-year-old never showed up to her regularly scheduled appointment. And by Saturday afternoon, no one in Linda’s family could get ahold of her.
“The hours went done past around 1:30, 2 p.m. I’m starting to wonder, like, ‘What’s going on?’ She hasn’t called me, because she normally would call me and tell me where she is going. She never did,” Antwon said.
The special education teacher at Chicago Public Schools’ Robert Healy Elementary School was set to return to work on Monday. Healy’s principal sent out a letter alerting the school’s community with a plea to contact police with any information.
The school offered students mental health support as Linda’s family and friends grapple with their emotions.
“A little frightened and scared. Like, where is she? Like, I don’t know what to do. I did everything. We got police detectives out. Everybody’s looking,” Antwon said. “We love her. We miss her. We want her to come home.”
Linda’s husband says she drives a blue Honda Civic. So far, CPD have not been able to find her vehicle, which they say has an Illinois plate number of CX57470.
CPD asked anyone with information to call Area One SVU detectives at 312-747-8380.
