Chicago eateries to compete for 'People's Choice' at Lakeview Taco Fest at 3500 North Southport Avenue, between Addison and Roscoe

CHICAGO (WLS) — Taco lovers, prepare your taste buds for this three-day fiesta that pays tribute to everyone’s favorite tortilla-wrapped delight!

Whether you’re a fan of traditional fillings like chicken, steak, chorizo, and beef or crave innovative creations, this festival has it all! Fourteen of Chicago’s finest eateries will compete to craft the city’s most mouthwatering tacos.

This fest is a wildly popular fixture to the Windy City’s food scene. The Lakeview Taco Fest will be held Aug. 22-24 at 3500 North Southport Avenue, between Addison and Roscoe. Hours are Friday 4-10 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m.-10 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

There are two music stages, crowd-pleasing Luche Libre Mexican wrestlers (5 p.m. daily at Southport & Cornelia), activities for kids (inflatables and games), and visitors can text vote for “People’s Choice -Chicago’s Best Taco.” Plus, vendors compete for the esteemed “Critics Choice Best Taco” award on Saturday, which will be presented on the South Stage at 5 p.m.

Sample tasty tacos from the city’s top vendors such as Banges, Beat Kitchen, Cabos Tacos, Carnitas Roldan, El Campeon, El Taconazo Express, Enriques Place, Fernando’s Blue Agave Restaurant, La Cebollita Grill, Prime Tacos, Tandoor Char House, Taqueria Arceo, Taqueria Teotihuacan and Tuco and Blondie.

New this year, visitors can enjoy the VIP Experience at the event on Friday and Saturday evenings. The VIP Experience includes complimentary drinks, private restrooms and seating, taco tastings among other items. For VIP for tickets click here.
