CHICAGO (WLS) — A trio of Chicago schools has been chosen to join the first group of Disney Musicals in Schools Stage Connect, a pioneering digital initiative aimed at spreading the enchantment of musical theater to children across the nation.

Under the Stage Connect program, Alex Haley Academy, Funston Elementary, and Grover Cleveland Elementary will benefit from complimentary teacher training, along with show kits and performance rights. This will enable students to bring beloved Disney productions such as “The Lion King,” “Frozen,” and “Aladdin” to life, making musical theater more accessible than ever before.

This innovative program enhances the long-standing Disney Musicals in Schools initiative, which has been successfully fostering a love for storytelling for 15 years by establishing sustainable theater programs in public elementary schools.
