Chicago Shooting: Cordale Carroll Charged in Attack Injuring Ex-Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard’s Father in North Lawndale

A suspect has been charged in connection with a Chicago shooting that left the father of former Dolton Mayor, Tiffany Henyard, injured. Both Henyard and the Chicago Police Department confirmed the development on Saturday.

Authorities had been on the hunt for a trio of individuals believed to have ambushed a group on the city’s West Side, resulting in one person’s injury.

The victim of this violent encounter is the father of Tiffany Henyard, who previously served as the mayor of Dolton.

The incident took place at approximately 5:54 p.m. on March 25, in the 1300 block of South Kedzie Avenue, located in the North Lawndale neighborhood, according to Chicago police reports.

Charged in the case is 18-year-old Cordale Carroll, who now faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, as announced by the Chicago Police Department on Saturday.

Carroll was arrested Thursday in Chicago, police said. He appeared in court Saturday.

Henyard said her father was critically wounded in the shooting, but did survive.

The former Dolton mayor issued a statement Saturday, saying in part, “First, I want to thank God that the Chicago Police Department and detectives have captured one of the suspects in the shooting of my father. I have faith that the remaining individuals involved will also be brought to justice.”

No further information about the shooting was immediately available as Chicago police continue to investigate.
