This popular event is expected to draw close to 20,000 runners, serving as the unofficial kickoff to the spring running season.

Timed just a week after the city’s iconic Chicago River dyeing, the Shamrock Shuffle continues the spirited St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

Participants will don their festive green running gear, adding to the lively atmosphere.

The event offers a choice between a leisurely 2-mile walk and a more challenging 8K run.

Walkers go along the lakefront and then runners go throughout downtown.
