A man from London finds himself in custody after allegedly attempting to cut a commuter’s throat, all the while claiming to be a CIA operative.

On Tuesday, March 3, Zakir Ibrahim, aged 25, was apprehended in Chicago and now faces charges of attempted murder, as reported by CWB Chicago.

According to authorities, Ibrahim is accused of approaching an Amtrak passenger at Union Station in the city, where he allegedly brandished a knife at the passenger’s nose before making an attempt to slice their throat, the news outlet detailed.

Prosecutors revealed in a detention document acquired by the outlet that Ibrahim held the knife to the victim’s face, took a step back, and proceeded to try to cut the victim’s throat, missing by a mere inch.

The victim managed to narrowly escape the purported assault by leaning back just in time to avoid having his throat slashed, as the petition reportedly stated.

Ibrahim allegedly claimed to be a CIA agent and said he believed the victim was a hitman, causing him to attack the train passenger, the outlet reported.

Authorities have added the alleged attack was caught on video by multiple witnesses at the station.

Ibrahim was subsequently taken into custody and held without bond, according to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital.
