In an unusual turn of events in Vancouver, Washington, a clarinet player finds herself detained without any specific charges following her arrest at a protest near a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Oregon. This incident, which unfolded on Sunday, has left her husband, who prefers to remain anonymous for safety concerns, questioning the motives behind the arrest.

The woman was reportedly apprehended by federal agents in South Portland while engaging in a peaceful protest, her husband recounted. The arrest occurred around 5 p.m. as she played her clarinet amidst a seemingly lively and festive gathering. “It was a beautiful party atmosphere, with everyone in high spirits,” he explained. “Just as the band began playing ‘Ghostbusters,’ ICE agents suddenly intervened. It baffles me why a clarinet player, standing innocuously on a sidewalk and following all given instructions, would be targeted.”

The situation has sparked further concern in the community, especially following reports of ICE agents surveilling a Wilsonville middle school, raising alarms among residents.
