BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A man from Clay County has been slapped with charges including carjacking and attempted kidnapping, alongside various other offenses, as announced by U.S. Attorney Phillip Williams Jr.
Stevie Harris is facing allegations of attempted kidnapping and carjacking, in addition to carrying a firearm in association with a violent crime. He is also accused of transporting explosive materials both without a license and with the intent to cause harm. Authorities report that these events transpired on September 5, 2024.
“The indictment outlines accusations of serious crimes endangering a victim and those in the vicinity,” stated Assistant U.S. Attorney Kristy M. Peoples. “Our gratitude goes to the federal, state, and local law enforcement teams whose exemplary teamwork enabled this prosecution,” she added.
