Shedeur Sanders is set to continue as the Browns’ starting quarterback for another week.
Following Cleveland’s 26-8 defeat against the 49ers, Head Coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed that Sanders would remain the team’s starter for Week 14.
In his debut at home, Sanders completed 16 passes, amassing 149 yards and throwing one touchdown.

Drafted 144th overall in April, Sanders has already made an impact by leading the Browns to a victory in his first NFL start the previous week in Las Vegas, marking a whirlwind commencement to his professional journey.
“I’ll need to review the game footage. He’s fighting hard, just like the rest of our team,” Stefanski remarked to the press after the game. “There are definitely plays he’d like to redo, but we’ll analyze and improve on them.”
Sanders did throw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Harold Fannin Jr. in the second quarter that gave the Browns an 8-7 lead, with the help of a converted 2-point attempt.
Stefanski called the TD play “well-executed.”
The Browns head coach wouldn’t say whether Sanders would be the starter from here on out, though, when asked about it by reporters.

ESPN reported previously that the Browns had been open to the idea of allowing Sanders to continue to play in order get a longer look at what he’s able to do.
“Obviously we lost, so I ain’t play well,” Sanders told reporters. “There’s definitely things on film I’m going to look back and want to get back and want to see but at least moving forward I know what we could do differently going about the week and being able to get fully, fully prepared for every possibility.”
