Cleveland radio host loses it after Joe Flacco's Bengals breakout

On Friday, Cleveland radio personality Tony Rizzo had a meltdown on air.

After Joe Flacco delivered an impressive performance in his second start with the Bengals against Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers in Thursday’s much-anticipated Unc Bowl, Rizzo was left bewildered. He questioned why Browns GM Andrew Berry decided to trade the 40-year-old quarterback.

“Why would you do that, Andrew?” Rizzo exclaimed passionately during “The Tony Rizzo Show.” “What possessed you to trade this player to a division rival for just a fifth-round draft pick? It’s a decision worthy of termination. How much longer will the owner tolerate this nonsense?”

Rizzo — whose voice kept getting louder as he went on — continued by saying that the fans have had enough of the actions from Cleveland’s owner, Jimmy Haslam.

“The fans have had it, we deserve better,” Rizzo yelled as his voice started to break. “You are just worried more about your stadium than you are your football team, that’s the perception, Jimmy. You allow these people to do this.

“You have the worst offense in the league. Your GM screwed this quarterback thing up like I’ve never seen — in my life I’ve never seen anything like it. Kids who play Madden could have done a better job…This franchise has become a joke.”

Rizzo’s scathing comments come after Flacco threw for 342 passing yards and three touchdowns in the Bengals’ 33-31 win over Pittsburgh Thursday night.

Flacco was lackluster through his four starts with Cleveland this season, throwing six interceptions to just two touchdowns while racking up 815 passing yards.

The Browns hold a 1-5 record and have lost their past three games as they sit in last place in the AFC North.
