Jacksonville Jaguars head coach, Liam Coen, expressed the team’s intention to review their utilization of Hunter over the course of the seven games he participated in, once the offseason is underway.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — During a Wednesday briefing, Jaguars head coach Liam Coen emphasized that it’s too early to finalize any decisions regarding rookie Travis Hunter’s future prospects as a dual-role player on the team.

Hunter, who has shown his versatility by playing both as a wide receiver and a cornerback this season, recently underwent a surgical procedure in Dallas to address an issue with the lateral collateral ligament in his right knee.

Coen announced that Hunter has already returned to Jacksonville and will commence his rehabilitation at the team’s facilities.

The Jaguars aim to assess their strategic deployment of Hunter during the seven games he played prior to his injury, once the offseason arrives. Coen remarked that it’s “premature” to speculate whether Hunter will ultimately become the team’s leading receiver, top cornerback, or continue his dual role on the field.

“Right now, it’s all about his recovery,” Coen said. “We’ll take a look at everything once we get through the season.”

Hunter will remain involved with the team, participating in meetings and staying engaged throughout his rehab process.
