Coldplay asks fans to 'send love' to Charlie Kirk's family

Coldplay encouraged fans to open their hearts and send love to the family of Charlie Kirk following his death by shooting.

“Let’s lift our hands like this and send love, anywhere in the world you wish,” stated the band’s lead singer, Chris Martin, during their performance at London’s Wembley Stadium on Friday.

“You can send this love to your brother or sister, or to families who have been through tough times. You can also send it to Charlie Kirk’s family.”

“You can send it to those with whom you might disagree, yet still offer them love. You can also send it to peaceful individuals in the Middle East, in Ukraine, and Russia,” Martin added before the band played their popular song “Fix You.”

In the clip circulating via TikTok, Martin, 48, raised his hands above his head while wiggling his fingers, as nearly an entire audience followed his lead.

Kirk died on Thursday at age 31 after suffering a fatal sniper’s shot while speaking on campus at Utah Valley University, about 40 miles south of Salt Lake City.

A suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson of Washington, Utah, was arrested on Friday and is expected to face charges of aggravated murder.

The conservative activist was kicking off his “American Comeback Tour,” which had scheduled stops at colleges and universities across the country.

President Donald Trump announced Kirk’s death via Truth Social the same day. “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie,” he wrote.

“He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us,” the post continued.

“Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”

Amid escalating tensions over what Utah Governor Spencer Cox called a “political assassination,” many other famous personalities — including Ivanka Trump, Chris Pratt and the hosts of “The View” — expressed sympathy for the slain pundit’s widow, Erika Kirk, and their two children.

Martin’s heartwarming gesture comes two months after he inadvertently caught Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the company’s head of HR, Kristen Cabot, embracing on camera amid an alleged affair during a Boston concert — igniting a public scandal.
