Colin Mochrie, best known for his role on “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”, is currently recuperating from eye surgery, necessitating the rescheduling of several dates on his current tour.
The comedian, who has been performing alongside Asad Mecci in their innovative hypnosis-improv show, HYPROV, announced the postponement due to an emergency procedure to address a detached retina. The decision was communicated in a joint statement with HYPROV released on Friday.
“We regret to inform you that our upcoming shows will be postponed due to a medical situation involving Colin Mochrie,” the statement revealed. “His medical team is optimistic about his full recovery, but he needs time to rest and heal.”
Addressing fans, the statement acknowledged the disappointment the postponements might cause but expressed gratitude for their understanding. The team is actively working to reschedule the performances, and all tickets will remain valid for the new dates. For those unable to attend the rescheduled shows, details on how to request a refund will be provided.
“We understand this news is disappointing for those who were looking forward to the performances, and we truly appreciate your understanding. We are currently working on rescheduling the shows, and all tickets will be honored for the new dates. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled performances, we will provide information on how to request a refund,” the statement continued.Â
“Colin is incredibly grateful for your support and well wishes,” HYPROV shared in the statement. “He looks forward to being back on stage and sharing many more laughs with all of you in the near future.”
According to the Cleveland Clinic, a detached retina is a painless but serious condition that needs immediate treatment. It happens when your retina, the layer of tissue in the back of your eye, detaches from the tissues that support it, leading to vision issues and even blindness.Â
Symptoms can include eye floaters, flashes of light and or a shadow in your vision.Â
