A Columbia University student-athlete has been arrested for allegedly throwing an unlit Molotov cocktail from his dorm room, according to police.

A 22-year-old senior at an Ivy League college, Javen Jovero caused alarm by throwing a plastic bottle filled with rubbing alcohol and a sock from a dormitory on the school’s East Campus on Monday night.

While no one was injured as the makeshift firebomb wasn’t lit, police received multiple 911 calls from worried students around 8:30 p.m.

Jovero, who was a wrestler for the Lions as mentioned on the team’s website, was subsequently transported to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital for a psychiatric assessment, as confirmed by the authorities.

Originally from southern California, the student specializing in electrical engineering was arrested on charges of criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment after the incident, according to the police.

Police have not linked it to the political turmoil that’s gripped the Manhattan school since Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on Israel.

The Post has reached out to Columbia for comment.
