DENVER (KDVR) If you’re active in any downtown Denver neighborhood Facebook group, you likely saw the posts: “Missing person: Jax,” the bright-red posters state.

Jack “Jax” Gratton, 34, was last seen on April 15. On April 25, Gratton’s mother told affiliate KDVR that her daughter is heavily involved in the community and owns her own hair salon, Jax Gratton Studio, which is based out of a suite on North Broadway.

She was officially reported missing to police on April 24. Her friend and coworker, Brandy Carey, told KDVR’s Nate Belt that she met Gratton at work. The studio is operated by independent stylists, so no one knows the schedules of other hairstylists in the space.

“We were reached out to by both of her parents and then we all collectively figured out, OK, there’s something really wrong. She did not reach out to her parents on Easter and that’s very unlike her,” Carey told Belt.

On Sunday, Carey was out in Denver handing out and posting hundreds of flyers in an attempt to find her friend.

Gratton was last seen in the 4200 block of East Iliff Avenue at about 10 p.m., and police told KDVR that they are investigating “in accordance with normal protocol and have been in communication with Gratton’s family.”

Her disappearance remains under investigation. She’s described as a white female with red hair (naturally blonde hair) and blue eyes. She’s about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. Friends and family have organized posters around the metro and even started a Facebook group to share information that could lead to her safe return.

“She treats every single person that comes in contact with her like they’re special,” Carey told Belt.

She said that she hopes the flyers help bring Gratton home, but also has a message for Gratton.

“I want to remind her that she is a strong woman and she’s proven that to every single one of us,” Carey said. “I would just tell her it does not matter what’s going on at all. None of it matters. Nothing. We just want to know she’s OK, even if that is just a phone call to one person. Just so that way we can hear her voice.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Denver Police Department immediately at 720-913-2000. The case number for her disappearance is 25-5001497.
