CHICAGO (WLS) — In a bid to bring justice to a fatal hit-and-run incident on Chicago’s South Side, Cook County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for any information that leads to an arrest. The tragic event occurred last November, and authorities are urging the public to come forward with any leads.
According to police reports, the collision took place shortly after 4:45 p.m. on November 17, along the 11700 block of South Marshfield Avenue in the Morgan Park neighborhood.

The incident unfolded when a 45-year-old man reportedly engaged in a dispute with the driver of a van. As the argument concluded, the man attempted to cross in front of the vehicle to reach his own car parked nearby.
Tragically, the van’s driver then accelerated, striking the victim. The man became trapped beneath the vehicle and was dragged along before being run over by both the front and rear tires. The driver then fled the scene, continuing south on Marshfield Avenue.
The victim, who was left lying in the parking lot, tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. Police continue to seek information to identify and apprehend the driver involved in this heinous act.
Investigators released an image of a van they are looking for.
