Social media video out of Elgin shows four people being taken away by ICE Wednesday. Two of them were apparently U.S. citizens and were later released.

Those who were there during the operation described seeing masked agents and a display of military force.

In an interview with Univision, the partner of a man who was detained in Little Village earlier this week said her family was driving around doing errands when a pick-up when federal agents surrounded them and took her partner away. She said her partner has a pending asylum case just like she does.
Tuesday, Latino leadership met at Daley Plaza to send this message to immigrant families.

“We ask all undocumented residents, or anyone who is vulnerable, to stay home as much as you can, and to know your rights,” said Berto Aguayo with the Latino Leadership Council.

Congresswoman Lauren Underwood said she was briefed by ICE leadership, and was told about 250 people have been detained since the start of Operation Midway Blitz.
